FILMING IN MOZAMBIQUE
VISAS FOR FILM CREWS
Over the recent years, the Mozambican immigration department – “SENAMI” has created different options for all foreign nationals to apply for visas to enter Mozambique.
In 2017, intending to boost the local tourism and film industry, the Mozambican Government launched a new system that allows some foreign nationals to apply for visas on arrival at the point of entry but, this option is on a case-by-case basis. So, we recommend that all international producers Apply for their proper visas at the Mozambican Embassy/Consulate in their current location and in advance.
The Mozambican Government can give one exception to allow crew members to apply for visas upon landing at the point of entry into Mozambique.
For a film crew to successfully obtain visas at the airport or border post, the team must be ready to explain the reasons behind not applying in their home countries. (For instance, Non-existence of MZ Consulate/Embassy in their home country or the crew is currently on location in another country).
When it comes to foreign producers who are planning to shoot in Mozambique, they have a few types of visas they can apply for, and these includes but are not limited to:
- TOURIST VISAS
- BUSINESS VISAS
- WORK VISAS
